# The M1 Motorway (Junctions 6A to 10) (Variable Speed Limits) Regulations 2011, Introduction: Introductory text

The Secretary of State for Transport makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 17(2) and (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Representative organisations have been consulted in accordance with section 134(2) of that Act.
