# The Magistrates’ Courts (Amendment) Rules 2024, Introduction: Introductory text


Magistrates’ Courts, England And Wales
Made 27th February 2024
Laid before Parliament 4th March 2024
Coming into force 8th April 2024
The Lady Chief Justice, with the concurrence of the Lord Chancellor, makes the following rules in exercise of the powers conferred by section 144 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1980 and section 2(2)(a) of the Civil Evidence Act 1995.
