# The Magistrates' Courts Rules 1981, Rule 81A: Duty of justices’ legal adviser


(1) This rule applies in relation to a magistrates’ court, including a youth court, which—
(a) comprises a lay justice or lay justices; and
(b) agrees to state a case.
(2) A justices’ legal adviser must assist the court by—
(a) preparing and amending the draft case; and
(b) completing the case stated.
