# The Marine Licensing (Exempted Activities) (Wales) Order 2011, Article 9: Salvage activities

Extent: E+W

(1) Article 4 applies to an activity carried on, in the course of a salvage operation, for the purpose of ensuring the safety of a vessel or preventing pollution.
(2) But article 4 does not apply to the removal of wrecks or objects of archaeological or historical interest.
