REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES, ETC. ENGLAND AND WALES

The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 46A of the Marriage Act 1949^f1 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following regulations—

f1: 1949 c. 76. Section 46A was inserted by section 1(2) of the Marriage Act 1994 (c. 34). The power to make regulations in section 46A(1) was transferred to the Chancellor of the Exchequer by article 3(1) and paragraph 7(a) of Schedule 1 to the Transfer of Functions (Registration and Statistics) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/273).
