  "text": "In these Regulations —\n“the principal Regulations” means the Measuring Instruments (EEC Requirements) Regulations 1980(e);\n“the relevant Community obligations” means the Community obligations of the United Kingdom under Council Directive No. 71/316/EEC(f) (which relates to measuring instruments in general) and the following Council Directives:—\nCouncil Directive No.\nSubject Matter\n71/319/EEC(g)\nmeters for liquids other than water\n71/348/EEC(h)\nancillary equipment for meters for liquids other than\nas amended(i)\nwater\n73/360/EEC(j)\nnon-automatic weighing machines\nas amended(k)\n73/362/EEC(a)\nmaterial measures of length\nas amended(b)\n75/33/EEC(c)\ncold-water meters\n75/410/EEC(d)\ncontinuous totalising weighing machines\n76/765/EEC(e)\nalcoholometers and alcohol hydrometers\n77/95/EEC(f)\ntaximeters\n77/313/EEC(g)\nmeasuring systems for liquids other than water\nas amended(h)\n78/1031/EEC(i)\nautomatic checkweighing and weight grading machines\n79/830/EEC(j)\nhot-water meters",
