  "heading": "Place of EEC initial verification",
  "text": "(1) In a case falling within paragraph 2(1) above, the examination for EEC initial verification shall be carried out at a place determined in accordance with the relevant Directive or, where the relevant Directive makes no provision in that respect, at a place chosen by the inspector dealing with the application.\n(2) In a case falling within paragraph 2(2) above, the examination for the final stage of verification shall be carried out at the place of installation and any other examination of the instrument at an earlier stage which falls to be made in the United Kingdom shall be carried out as mentioned in sub-paragraph (1) above.\n(3) An inspector carrying out any examination for the purposes of EEC initial verification may require the applicant to provide such facilities and assistance as appear to him to be necessary for carrying out the examination, and may also require the applicant to provide him with a copy of any certificate of EEC pattern approval, and any documents annexed thereto, which relates to the instrument under examination.",
