# Mental Capacity Act (Northern Ireland) 2016, Section 213: Effect of transfer under section 211

Status: prospective

(1) Where a direction is given in respect of a person under section 211 (transfer of person serving custodial sentence etc to hospital), the managing authority of the hospital specified in the direction must—
(a) admit the person; and
(b) detain him or her in accordance with Chapter 5.
(2) In Chapter 5 (detention under a hospital direction), any reference to a hospital direction includes a reference to a direction under section 211.
