# The Mental Health Review Tribunal (Amendment) Rules 1996, Introduction: Introductory text


MENTAL HEALTH
Made 15th February 1996
Laid before Parliament 15th February 1996
Coming into force 1st April 1996
The Lord Chancellor in exercise of powers conferred on him by section 78(1), (2), (3) and (5) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and after consulting with the Council on Tribunals in accordance with section 8 of the Tribunals and Inquiries Act 1992 hereby makes the following Rules:—
