Regulation 11 Awnings

Every ship for the time being regularly engaged on voyages to or within the Tropics or the Gulfs area shall be provided with—

(a)

awnings suitable to cover such area of any deck space provided pursuant to regulation 24(3) for the recreation of the crew as will, when covered with the awnings, provide a shaded area of adequate extent having regard to the number of persons in the crew and to any shade provided on that deck space by overhanging decks; and

(b)

stanchions or other suitable supports for those awnings.
