  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations further amend the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 1987 to lay down the fees of the Department of Transport where only the practical examinations for masters and officers are conducted by the Department, as will normally be the case after 1st January 1988.\nThe Regulations also provide a fee for the grant of certificate of continued proficiency and updating of knowledge in respect of a certificate of competency or service.",
