  "heading": "Amendments to the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 1996",
  "text": "(1) The Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 1996 are amended as follows.\n(2) In regulation 5(2), for the words following “the hourly rate of” there is substituted “£36”.\n(3) In the Schedule, in Part I—\n(a) in paragraph 2(2)(a), for the words following “the hourly rate of” there is substituted “£36”; and\n(b) in paragraph 2(2)(b) for “£50” there is substituted “£75”.\n(4) In Part XII, for the table there is substituted:\nRadio surveys per hour, or part thereof\nOther surveys, inspections and tests per hour or part thereof\n1\nFor waiting time prior to the commencement of and during the course of a survey or inspection\nfor a period not in excess of one hour\nNo fee\nNo fee\nFor periods in excess of one hour\nfor surveys in the United Kingdom\n£36.00\n£78.00\nfor surveys abroad\n£72.00\n£156.00\n2\nFor abortive visits in the United Kingdom: for the time wasted in excess of one hour at the place of survey or inspection plus the time occupied in travelling to and from the place of survey\n£36.00\n£78.00\n3\nWhere a surveyor or inspector is called upon to perform services at unusual hours; for work undertaken during the following times including time occupied in travelling:\nMondays to Fridays inclusive between 6pm and 8am and all day Saturday\n£18.00\n£39.00\nSunday and Public Holidays\n£36.00\n£78.00",
