# The Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 2006, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations consolidate with amendments the Merchant Shipping (Fees) Regulations 1996 (S.I. 1996/3243) and amending Regulations. They prescribe the fees payable for services and functions performed by or on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency under the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 with effect from 11th September 2006.
Some fees have been revised, some abolished and some left unchanged. The following table shows the revised fees, the date of the last revision and the percentage change since then. Fees abolished are listed below the table. Fees not otherwise mentioned are unchanged.

Some schedules of fees have been rearranged and some minor and drafting amendments have been made to the previous Regulations.
