# The Merchant Shipping (Life-Saving Appliances) (Second Amendment) Rules 1969, Article 1


(1) These Rules shall come into operation on 1st May 1969 and may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Life-Saving Appliances) (Second Amendment) Rules 1969.
(2) The Interpretation Act 1889 shall apply to the interpretation of these Rules as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.
