# The Merchant Shipping (Seamen’s Documents) (Amendment) Regulations 2023, Introduction: Introductory text


Merchant Shipping
Made at 9.50 a.m. on 27th March 2023
Laid before Parliament at 3.00 p.m. on 27th March 2023
Coming into force 1st May 2023
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 79(1)(a) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
The Secretary of State has consulted with such organisations referred to in section 306(4) of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
