# The Merchant Shipping (Seamen’s Documents) Regulations 1987, Regulation 9: Validity of British Seamen’s Cards


When his British Seaman’s Card is lost, destroyed, defaced or required to be surrendered a person shall cease to be regarded as the holder of a British Seaman’s Card.
