# The Merchant Shipping (Section 52 Inquiries) Rules (Amendment) Rules 1989, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Rules)
These Rules amend the Merchant Shipping (Section 52 Inquiries) Rules 1982, which lay down rules for the conduct of inquiries into the fitness or conduct of officers, by omitting rule 5(2), which laid down qualifications for persons hearing inquiries.
