# The Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Operations) (Amendment) Regulations 1987

These Regulations make minor amendments to the Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Operations) Regulations 1987, principally to bring one provision into line with an amendment to the Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Construction and Survey) Regulations 1981 made by the Merchant Shipping Submersible Craft (Amendment) Regulations 1987.

MERCHANT SHIPPING
SAFETY
Made 10th September 1987
Laid before Parliament 21st September 1987
Coming into force 12th October 1987
The Secretary of State for Transport, in exercise of his powers under section 17 of, and Schedule 5 to, the Merchant Shipping Act 1974 and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:

## 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Operations) (Amendment) Regulations 1987 and shall come into force on 12th October 1987.

## 2 Citation and commencement

The Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Operations) Regulations 1987 shall be amended as follows:—
(a) for regulation 7(1)(b) there shall be substituted the following:—
“there is produced to him a valid safety certificate issued by the Certifying Authority under the Merchant Shipping (Submersible Craft Construction and Survey) Regulations 1981 in respect of the submersible craft and its supporting equipment;”;
(b) in paragraphs I and II of Schedule 5, for “1986” there shall be substituted “1987”.
