# The Merseyside Traffic Control System (Transfer) Order 1988, Article 3: Authority of the Council to act as agent for the Secretary of State


For the purpose of securing the control, management, development and extension of the Merseyside traffic signal and control system, the Council may act as the agent of the Secretary of State in the control, management, development and extension of that system.
