# The Meters (Certification) (Amendment) Regulations 2026, Regulation 5: Insertion of regulation 9A


After regulation 9, insert—
“Certification by type
9A A meter is certified for the purpose of the Act where—
(a) either—
(i) a certificate in respect of that meter was issued by a meter examiner or authorised examiner in accordance with regulation 7 or regulation 9; or
(ii) the meter was certified in accordance with the Act immediately before the coming into force of these Regulations; and
(b) the meter is of a type described in columns 1 to 6 of the Table in Schedule 4A.”.
