# The Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Regulations 2019, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Treasury are designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of that Act, paragraph 5 of Schedule 3A to the Terrorism Act 2000 and paragraph 5 of Schedule 9 to the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, make the following Regulations.
