  "heading": "General powers of Authority",
  "text": "(1) The Authority may take such steps from time to time as it considers necessary or expedient for the improvement, maintenance and management of the port and the accommodation and facilities afforded in the port or connected with the port undertaking.\n(2) For those purposes, and without affecting the generality of paragraph (1), the Authority may—\n(a) improve, maintain, retain, regulate, manage, mark and light the port and provide port facilities in the port,\n(b) construct, reconstruct, extend, enlarge, alter, replace, relay or demolish structures and works in the port,\n(c) acquire land,\n(d) acquire any undertaking or part of an undertaking,\n(e) subscribe for or acquire shares or securities of any body corporate,\n(f) lend money to any person for the purposes of any undertaking carried on by that person or, where that person is a body corporate, any undertaking carried on by a subsidiary of that body corporate,\n(g) maintain such reserve funds as it thinks fit,\n(h) invest any sums not immediately required for the purposes of the port undertaking and turn its resources to account so far as not required for those purposes, and\n(i) do all other things which in its opinion are necessary or expedient to facilitate the proper carrying on or development of the port undertaking.\n(3) This article does not limit any powers of the Authority under or by virtue of any other enactment (including this Order).",
