  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations further amend the Motor Vehicles (Approval) Regulations 1996.\nRegulations 3 and 4 concern the application of the 1996 Regulations. They remove the requirement (in regulations 3 and 5) that passenger vehicles, other than motor ambulances and motor caravans, and goods vehicles must fall within one of the categories specified in Schedule 1.\nSchedule 1 will continue to apply for the purposes of regulation 12(2) which concerns the Type Code to be inserted in the Minister’s approval certificate. For those purposes, regulation 6 removes the category specified in paragraph 1 of Schedule 1 (vehicles entering into service in very low numbers) and regulation 5 provides for certificates to bear the Type Code “R” in the case of vehicles not falling into any of the remaining Schedule 1 categories.",
