  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) Regulations 1998.\nRegulation 3 inserts references to recent EC Directives in items 3, 12 and 31 in the Table in Schedule 1 to the 1998 Regulations.\nRegulation 4 inserts references to recent EC Directives by adding two new items 55 and 56 in that Table.\nIn line with the 1998 Regulations, the Directives are marked with either a * to denote that they are Commission Directives or a † to denote that they are Directives of the European Parliament and the Council.\nCopies of the EC Directives referred to in these Regulations can be obtained from the Stationery Office.",
