  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) Regulations 1992 and are made in consequence of Commission Directives 93/81/EEC, 93/91/EEC and 93/116/EEC.\nCommission Directive 93/81/EEC further amends Council Directive 70/156/EEC which relates to the type approval of motor vehicles and trailers.\nCommission Directive 93/91/EEC amends Council Directive 78/316/EEC relating to the interior fittings of motor vehicles (identification of controls, tell-tales and indicators).\nCommission Directive 93/116/EEC further amends Council Directive 80/1268/EEC which will, as a result of the amendment, relate to the carbon dioxide emissions and the fuel consumption of motor vehicles.\nThe opportunity has also been taken to correct a minor drafting error.\nCopies of the EEC Directives which are relevant to these Regulations can be obtained from Her Majesty’s Stationery Office.
