  "text": "(This note is not part of the Regulations)\nThese Regulations amend the Motor Vehicles (EC Type Approval) Regulations 1998.\nRegulation 2 inserts references to recent EC Directives in items 1, 2, 39, 40, 41 and 53 in the Table in Schedule 1 to the 1998 Regulations.\nIn line with the 1998 Regulations, the Directives are marked with either a * to denote that they are Commission Directives or a † to denote that they are Directives of the European Parliament and the Council.\nCopies of the EC Directives referred to in these Regulations can be obtained from the Stationery Office.",
