  "text": "(1) In this Act—\nthe expressions “the Act of 1946” and “the Act of 1947” have the meanings assigned to them by section one and section nine of this Act respectively;\nthe expression “the appointed day” means the day appointed for the purposes of sections thirty-three to thirty-seven of the Act of 1946 and sections thirty-four to thirty-eight of the Act of 1947.\n(2) Other expressions used in this Act shall, in the application of this Act to England and Wales, have the same meanings as in the Act of 1946 and, in the application of this Act to Scotland, have the same meanings as in the Act of 1947.\n(3) Any reference in this Act to any other enactment shall be construed as a reference to that enactment as amended by any subsequent enactment including this Act.",
