# Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002, Section 20: Dependant: definition

Status: prospective

For the purposes of this Part a person is a “dependant” of an asylum-seeker if (and only if) that person—
(a) is in the United Kingdom, and
(b) is within a prescribed class.
