# The NHS Direct Regulations 2004, Introduction: Introductory text

Laid before Parliament 9th March 2004
Coming into force 1st April
except regulation 3(1)(j) 5th July 2004
The Secretary of State for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 16(4) and 126(4) of, and paragraphs 10, 12 and 16 of Schedule 5 to, the National Health Service Act 1977, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:
