This Order brings into force on 23rd July 1997 the provisions of the Noise Act 1996 (“the Act”) which relate to the summary procedure for dealing with noise at night and supplementary matters (including powers of entry and seizure).

All other provisions of the Act were brought into force on 19th September 1996 by the Noise Act 1996 (Commencement No.1) Order 1996 (S.I. 1996/2219).
