# The Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Modification) Order 2002, Introduction: Introductory text

Present,
The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
WHEREAS Her Majesty deems it expedient to modify the Northern Ireland Act 1998 and to do so by Order in Council in pursuance of section 87(7) of that Act:
NOW, THEREFORE, Her Majesty, by virtue and in exercise of the powers conferred upon Her by section 87(7) of the said Act and of all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased by and with the advice of Her Privy Council to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:
