# The Northern Ireland Act 1998 (Modification) Order 2016, Introduction: Introductory text

Present,
The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council
This Order is made by Her Majesty in Council in exercise of the power conferred by section 87(7) of the Northern Ireland Act 1998.
Her Majesty considers it expedient to modify section 87(6) of that Act.
Accordingly Her Majesty, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, makes the following Order.
