# The Nuclear Reactors (Environmental Impact Assessment for Decommissioning) (Amendment) Regulations 2018, Introduction: Introductory text

Coming into force 6th August 2018
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 (“the ECA 1972”) and section 71A(1) and (2) of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.
The Secretary of State has been designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the ECA 1972 in relation to the environment.
