Regulation 1 Citation and commencement

These Regulations may be cited as the Nursery Education (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into force on 1st January 1997.

In these Regulations—

• “the Act” means the Nursery Education and Grant-Maintained Schools Act 1996;

• “funded nursery education” has the meaning assigned by paragraph 1(a) of Schedule 1 to the Act;

• “the principal Regulations” means the Nursery Education Regulations 1996^f1.
