Regulation 11 Notification of well operations

The operator of a fixed installation shall ensure that the drilling of a well from the installation is not commenced unless at least 21 days before its commencement he has sent to the Executive a notification containing the particulars specified in Schedule 6.

The operator of a mobile installation shall ensure that the carrying out of any operation in relation to a well or proposed well from the installation (including the drilling of a well) is not commenced unless at least 21 days before its commencement he has sent to the Executive a notification containing the particulars specified in Schedule 6.

Paragraphs (1) and (2) shall not apply where the drilling or operation is commenced before 21st December 1995.

Where there is a material change in any of the particulars notified pursuant to paragraph (1) or (2), the operator of the installation concerned shall notify the Executive of that change as soon as is practicable thereafter.
