# The Offshore Installations (Safety Zones) Order 2022, Introduction: Introductory text


Offshore Installations
Made 7th February 2022
Coming into force - - 1st March 2022
The Secretary of State makes this Order—
(a) in exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Petroleum Act 1987; and
(b) for the purpose of giving effect to proposals submitted by the Health and Safety Executive under section 24(2A) of that Act.
