# The Overseas Marriage (Armed Forces) Order 2014, Article 3: Countries or territories in which armed forces marriages may take place

Extent: E+W+S+N.I.

The marriage of two people may be solemnized in a country or territory outside the United Kingdom in the presence of an authorised person where—
(a) the authorised person is satisfied that the conditions set out in paragraph 8(2) of Schedule 6 to the Act are met; and
(b) in the case of a marriage of a same sex couple, the marriage takes place in a country or territory referred to in article 5.
