# The Packaging (Essential Requirements) Regulations 1998, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 2nd May 1998
Laid before Parliament 7th May 1998
Coming into force 31st May 1998
The Secretary of State, being a Minister designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to measures relating to the management of packaging and packaging waste, in exercise of the powers conferred upon her by that section and of all her other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Regulations:
