# The Parole Board (Scotland) Rules 2022, Rule 17: Exercise of functions

Extent: S

(1) Where the chairperson of a panel is unable for any reason to exercise a function conferred on them by these Rules, the function may be exercised instead by the chairperson of the Board.
(2) Where a function which is conferred by this Part on the Board is exercised by a panel by virtue of rule 7(1), that does not prevent the Board exercising that function.
