# The Patents (Amendment) Rules 2005, Article 1: Citation, commencement and interpretation


(1) These Rules may be cited as the Patents (Amendment) Rules 2005, and shall come into force on 1st October 2005.
(2) In these Rules—
“the 1995 Rules” means the Patents Rules 1995;
“the Fees Rules” means the Patents (Fees) Rules 1998.
(3) Unless the context otherwise requires, a reference to a numbered rule or Schedule is a reference to a rule of, or a Schedule to, the 1995 Rules.
