# The Patents (Fees) Rules 1992, Note: Explanatory note


(This note is not part of the Rules)
These Rules revoke and replace the Patents (Fees) Rules 1991 (S.I.1991/1627). Fees in respect of several matters have been increased; the increases take effect from 11th May 1992.
It is estimated that the total amount of fees collected per annum at the new levels will be 10 per cent greater than the amount collected per annum at existing levels.
