# The Payment Card Interchange Fee Regulations 2015, Introduction: Introductory text

The Treasury are a government department designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to financial services.
The Treasury make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972.
