Explanatory note

This Order provides for the coming into force of provisions of the Pensions Act 1995 on the following dates—

  • 1st January 1996 for section 39 concerning the exercise of powers by member trustees;

  • 1st January 1996 for the full coming into force of sections 62 to 66 and paragraphs 29, 32 to 37, 39(b), 42, 44(a)(i) and 47 of Schedule 3 concerning equal treatment and 4th December 1995 for the coming into force of sections 62 to 66 for the purposes of making regulations in relation thereto.
