# The Pensions Increase (Police Compensation) Regulations 1974, Note: Explanatory note


1 These Regulations provide for the payment of increases under the Pensions (Increase) Act 1971 on certain pensions payable by police authorities, in pursuance of the Local Government Act 1972, to or in respect of persons affected by local government reorganisation.
2 Under the powers in section 5(4) of the 1971 Act the Regulations provide for the increase of pension to take effect from 25th December 1973.
