# The Pensions Increase (Review) Order 1980, Introduction: Introductory text


PENSIONS
Made 26th August 1980
Laid before Parliament 8th September 1980
Coming into Operation 24th November 1980
Whereas by virtue of section 23 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 a direction has been given under section 124 of the Social Security Act 1975 by the Secretary of State for Social Services that the sums mentioned in section 23(1)(b) are to be increased:
Now therefore the Minister for the Civil Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 59(1), (2) and (5) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—
