# The Pensions Increase (Review) Order 1981, Introduction: Introductory text


PENSIONS
Made 18th August 1981
Laid before Parliament 7th September 1981
Coming into Operation 23rd November 1981
Whereas by virtue of section 23 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 a direction has been given under section 124 of the Social Security Act 1975 by the Secretary of State for Social Services that the sums mentioned in section 23(1)(b) are to be increased:
Now therefore the Minister for the Civil Service, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 59(1), (2) and (5) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 and of all other powers enabling her in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—
