# The Pensions Increase (Review) Order 1982, Introduction: Introductory text


PENSIONS
Made 10th August 1982
Laid before Parliament 31st August 1982
Coming into Operation 22nd November 1982
Whereas by virtue of section 23 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 a direction has been given under section 124 of the Social Security Act 1975 by the Secretary of State for Social Services that the sums mentioned in section 23(1)(b) are to be increased:
Now therefore the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(1), (2) and (5) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 and now vested in them, and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:—
