# The Pensions Increase (Review) Order 1987, Introduction: Introductory text

Made 2nd February 1987
Laid before Parliament 9th February 1987
Coming into force 6th April 1987
Whereas by virtue of section 23(2) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 a direction has been given under section 63(2) and section 83(3) of the Social Security Act 1986 by the Secretary of State for Social Services that the sums mentioned in section 63(1)(b) are to be increased:
Now therefore the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 59(1), (2) and (5) of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 and now vested in them, and all other powers enabling them in that behalf, hereby make the following Order:—
