# The Pensions Increase (Teachers) Regulations 1974, Note: Explanatory note


These Regulations enable pensions payable to or in respect of teachers to be increased under section 1 of the Pensions (Increase) Act 1974, which provides for increases in official pensions affected by the Counter-Inflation (Temporary Provisions, Act 1972 and the Counter-Inflation Act 1973. Regulation 5 amends the Act in relation to service in admitted schools (within the meaning of Part VIII of the Teachers' Superannuation Regulations 1967 (S.I. 1967/489)).
