Pensions Measure 1997 (Appointed Day Instrument 1997)

Whereas the Pensions Measure 1997 received the Royal Assent on the twenty first day of March 1997

And Whereas by section 11(2) of the said Measure it is provided that the said Measure shall come into force on such date as the Archbishops of Canterbury and York may jointly appoint

Now therefore we GEORGE LEONARD by Divine Providence Archbishop of Canterbury and DAVID MICHAEL by Divine Providence Archbishop of York do hereby jointly appoint that the said Measure shall come into force on the first day of January 1998.
